Journal with the Divine

Written By: Sandi MacCalla, Founder - LifeSkills Academy ~ 12/11/2023

Some people converse with God through journaling. Are there best ways to do this?

Conversing through journaling with the Godhead is deeply meaningful for those who have a spiritual relationship. Here are some ways to engage in this communication and to build your connection:

  1. BLOGPOST_Journal12182023A.jpgSet Your Intention: Begin your journaling session with a clear intent to communicate with God. Take a moment to quiet yourself and experience a sacred space for this interaction.

  2. Addressing the Divine: Start your journal entry with a specific greeting to God, such as "Dear God," "Beloved Creator," “My Lord,” or any other respectful name that resonates for you.

  3. Express Gratitude: Begin by expressing gratitude for blessings in your life. Acknowledge and appreciate the positive aspects of your life to set a positive tone for the conversation.

  4. Speak from Your Heart: Pour out your thoughts, feelings, and concerns in an open and honest manner. Share your joys, struggles, hopes, and fears, as if in an open-hearted conversation with a close friend.

  5. Ask Questions: Feel free to ask questions or seek guidance on specific matters. Be open to receiving insights, answers, or intuitive nudges as you write. If you think it may be you voicing insights, just ask God for confirmation.

  6. Listen and Be Still: After expressing yourself, take a moment to be still and receptive. This can be a time for listening to the inner wisdom or the voice of God. You may also experience feelings of peace, inspiration, or clarity.

  7. Be Patient and Trust: Sometimes, answers or guidance might not come immediately. Be patient and trust that the communication with the Divine is ongoing, and God’s insights may reveal themselves in time.

  8. BLOGPOST_Journal12182023B.jpgRecord Responses: If you receive any insights, messages, or feelings during journaling, write them down. This can help you remember and reflect on the guidance you received.

  9. End with Gratitude: Conclude your journal entry by expressing gratitude once again for the opportunity to communicate and connect with God through your writing.

  10. Regular Practice: Engage in this form of journaling regularly to deepen your connection with the Divine and cultivate a spiritual presence in your journal and your life.

The way you converse with the Godhead through journaling is deeply personal and evolves over time. Allow yourself to be open to the experience and embrace whatever form of communication is authentic and aligns with you.
