Discover $-Friendly Fall Travel

Thanks to affordable prices and fewer crowds during the ‘shoulder season,’ fall is a fantastic time to travel on a budget. Here are ideas for budget-savvy fall travel:

  1. Take Advantage of the Season:
    • Fall is considered a shoulder season in many places because it falls between high and low seasons. Watch for deals on airfare, accommodations, and activities during this time.
    • Destinations in North America, Europe, Central and South America, and the Caribbean are where autumn is the shoulder season.

  2. BLOGPOST_FallTravel10282024.jpgPick Affordable Airfare Destinations:
    • Raleigh, Chicago, and Denver are great options in the U.S., with median rates of $206, $218, and $176 per person, respectively.
    • Explore parts of Canada like Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal, where median airfare is less than $350.

  3. Book Two One-Way Flights:
    • Save money by researching and booking two one-way flights instead of a round-trip ticket.
    • Alternatively, consider a road trip to avoid expensive plane tickets. Be sure to price out fuel and accommodations (if any) to ‘comparison-shop.’

  4. Explore Nearby Day Trip Destinations:
    • Wanderlust travelers can take day trips to nearby attractions.
    • Visit deserted ghost towns for one-of-a-kind experiences.

  5. Pack Food To Go:
    • Bring snacks and meals to avoid pricey airport or restaurant food.
    • Picnics in scenic fall spots can be both budget-friendly and delightfully memorable.

Fall travel doesn't have to break the bank. Enjoy the colorful foliage and create lasting memories without overspending!
