Summer is in full swing. It is time to change the scenery. Traveling to other places fills the summer doldrum void while shining a light into the lives of other places, people, customs, and food. It is education along the way.
- Travel to learn.
There is much to experience when going to new places. The lessons learned are not the same as when read in books. Seeing works of art, terrain, and tasting new foods all help us navigate other cultures. We broaden our horizons when discovering other ways of life.
- Travel to see for yourself.
Perhaps you have heard negative information about a culture or its people. When you experience the land and its people, you learn firsthand what it is really like in that locale. Your own visit may prove to be quite different from the stories.
- Jobs might fill your pockets – traveling fills your soul.
Often new places fill you with wonder, exuberance, joy, and gratitude. There is a real appreciation of the new places uncovered. There is also an appreciation of what is back home. It takes being away to value what you already have.
Traveling is therapy.
- Fill life with adventure, not things.
Acquiring additional possessions does not bring satisfaction to life. Experiencing new places and people brings new fulfillment to your life. Traveling fosters new feelings.
- Adventure might hurt you; however, monotony will kill you.
The world is huge with much to see and experience. Traveling away from your home base enables a greater awareness of the possibilities. Variety is the spice of life. That will not be found doing the same things over and over again.
- Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.
Many of our citizens need to travel for themselves. Seeing, speaking, and experiencing in person provides a very special type of knowledge.
Broad, wholesome, charitable views of life are not acquired by being in one corner of life. To fully experience other people and lands requires traveling to them in their own environments.
