After your annual ‘spring cleaning’ ritual, give yourself a boost. Strike a positive personal image! Here are some ways to reset:
- Your Strengths
- Inventory your talents, interests, and successes.
- Reflect on past accomplishments.
- Identify skills and qualities that were successful.
- Personal Goals
- Align your goals with your strengths and interests.
- Achieving a goal builds confidence and personal esteem.
- Your Appearance
- Refresh your wardrobe by clearing out low-use items.
- Note what makes you feel good and presents a positive image.
- Should a springtime spa treatment be on your list and in your budget?
- Cultivate good hygiene habits. Good hygiene is important to feeling energized and presenting yourself positively.
- Good Body Language
- Stand up straight.
- Make eye contact.
- Use open, confident movement.
- This projects a positive image.
- Speak Positively
- Avoid negative self-talk and conversation.
- Use positive language when talking about yourself and others
- Gravitate toward Positive Influences
- Engage with people who are positive and supportive.
- Limit/avoid those who are negative or critical.
- Be Kind and Respectful
- Honor yourself and others with kindness and respect.
- Be understanding and non-judgmental.
- Build positive relationships and a good reputation.
- Listen
- Be open to feedback and constructive comments.
